Lesson 5: Creating Expert Profiles with Hidemium
In the previous lesson, we successfully created profiles using the Newbie interface. In this lesson, we will guide you through creating profiles using the Expert interface in Hidemium. Below are the detailed steps:
Step 1: Access the Expert Profile Creation Interface
First, click on the Add Profiles button, then select the Go to Expert button.
The Expert interface offers a more comprehensive range of options with eight main sections:
- Basic Info
- Proxy
- Cookies
- Hardware
- Bookmark
- Extension
- Autofill
- Other
Let’s dive into the details of each section:
- Basic Info
In the Basic Info section, you will find fields such as Name, Folder, and Status. You can customize these fields according to the requirements of your project or work. In the Platform field, select the operating system that aligns with your purpose. If you are using the Windows app, it’s recommended to choose Windows for optimal performance. Similarly, if you’re using a Mac, selecting Mac will optimize the emulation.
- Platform Version: Emulate specific OS versions such as Windows 10 or Windows 11.
- Browser: Choose the browser you want to emulate, including Chrome, Opera, Edge, Brave, or Safari.
- Browser Version: Select the browser version to emulate.
- Auto Fill User Agent: Based on the information provided, the system will automatically generate a suitable User Agent. If you prefer to manually customize the User Agent, uncheck the box and input your own. However, for optimal configuration, it is recommended to use the Auto Fill User Agent feature.
- Port to Protect: We have written a detailed article explaining this feature, which you can refer to here: What is Port to Protect? The Operating Principles of Hidemium.
- Start URL: Choose the website URL that the browser will open first.
- Max Touch Points: Configure the number of touch points on the screen. If the screen is not touch-enabled, the value will always be 0. For touchscreens, the configuration will be set according to the available device options in the app.
- Disable Image: Disable image loading in the browser.
- Restore Session: Enable the restoration of the previous session.
Use Secure DNS: Toggle secure DNS redirection on or off.
In the Location section, you will find the following key functions:
- Simulate Timezone based on proxy.
- Simulate Geolocation based on proxy.
- Configure WebRTC according to the proxy.
- Set Language according to the proxy.
All of these settings are automatically configured based on the proxy you select. You simply need to ensure all relevant options are checked for accurate configuration.
- Proxy
In the Proxy section, you have multiple options to configure your proxy based on your usage needs, including:
- Select HTTP, SOCKS5, SSH, or Custom Proxy Config: You can customize the proxy settings in the Proxy Config section (e.g., naming it ABC Proxy).
- Select Function: Choose previously added proxies from the Proxy Manager (yellow button).
- Random Function: Automatically select a random proxy from the list of proxies in the Proxy Manager.
- Delete Function: Remove any proxy that has been entered previously in the form.
Checking Proxy Before Starting Profile
- Check proxy before start profile: When this option is enabled, the proxy will be verified, and the information will be updated in the configuration before launching the profile. This ensures that the proxy details, such as latitude/longitude, WebRTC IP, or language, are checked and updated in case the proxy information has changed over time.
- Check Proxy: This button will display the full details of the currently used proxy.
- Cookies
In the Cookie section, you can import cookies in two ways:
- Import cookies as text
- Import cookies from a file
Once successfully imported, the cookies will be displayed and managed at: chrome://settings/content/all. This allows you to easily control active sessions and saved data in the emulated browser.
- Hardware
The Hardware section in Hidemium allows you to emulate the hardware specifications of a device, enabling you to customize configurations to meet different usage needs. The main options include:
Screen Size
- Emulate screen size: Customize the screen size of the device. This also represents the maximum size the browser can open.
WebGL Metadata
- WebGL Vendor: Emulate the device’s graphics card vendor.
- WebGL Renderer: Emulate the type of graphics card used in the device configuration.
- Enable Swift Shader (CPU-rendering): Activate CPU rendering instead of GPU rendering.
- Enable WebGL2: Enable WebGL2 technology to improve graphics performance.
- WebGL Image: Option to distort images generated by WebGL to enhance security.
Audio and Video
- Audio: Distort audio frequencies produced by the profiles.
- Canvas: Distort Canvas, which is designed to draw graphics using JavaScript and HTML. Canvas can also be used for online tracking through browser fingerprinting. This technique relies on variations in how canvas images are rendered across different browsers and platforms to create a personalized digital fingerprint.
- Client Rects: Distort the exact pixel dimensions of the bounding rectangles of displayed HTML elements.
Other Hardware Specifications
- Hardware Concurrency: Emulate the number of logical processors available to run threads on the user’s computer.
- Device Memory: Emulate the device’s RAM capacity.
- Media Devices: Emulate the names, codes, and quantity of media devices like Cameras, Microphones, and Speakers.
- Replace Battery State: Simulate battery status, allowing you to set battery levels, charging time, and whether the device is using direct power or running on battery.
- Font: Emulate all the fonts used in the profiles to create a working environment that mirrors a real device.
- Bookmark
In the Bookmark section, you can pre-set bookmarks in the profile for quick access to important websites. Bookmarks are entered in the following format:
- Structure: (Folder Name)::(Bookmark Name)::(Bookmark URL)

This feature helps you conveniently manage and quickly access frequently visited pages within the profile.
- Extension
The Extension section allows you to select and install browser extensions directly from external sources or the built-in library within the Hidemium application. This eliminates the need to visit browser app stores to download extensions.
- Installing extensions: You can choose from available extensions or upload custom extensions through the Extension option in the profile management section.
If you want to add or customize extensions, simply access the Extension section in the profile management screen to upload them. Detailed instructions on how to upload and customize extensions will be covered in the next guide.
- Autofill
The Autofill feature allows you to automatically fill in forms on the browser quickly and conveniently. Once set up, the browser will automatically complete form fields without requiring manual input each time, saving you time and effort.

By configuring Autofill, you can easily manage and quickly input personal or business information into web forms without having to re-enter the details repeatedly, improving your overall work efficiency.
- Other
The Other section includes advanced features not listed in the previous sections, allowing you to further customize your profile:
- Computer Name: Emulate the computer’s device name.
- MAC Address: Emulate the MAC address of the computer.
- Effective Type: Emulate the network connection type (Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, etc.).
- Bluetooth: Emulate connected Bluetooth devices.
- Do Not Track: Enable/disable the Do Not Track feature. This feature enhances security by limiting the collection of data while browsing the web.
- Custom Launch Browser Parameters: Add command-line parameters before launching the browser. You can find more information on custom command lines here.
- Experimental QUIC Protocol: Enable/disable QUIC, a new network protocol developed by Google to improve performance and security for data transmission over the Internet. QUIC is still in the experimental phase and has not yet been widely deployed.
Config Redirect URL: Allows URL redirection from one URL to another (A -> B), typically used for managing and adjusting client data.
